Galapagos Islands – A Place That Cannot Be Missed

The nature’s beauty that cannot be missed in South America is the Galapagos Islands. It is the archipelago of 19 islands which is situated within the stretch of 1000 kilometers. This is the place that is situated away from the mainland but is very rich and unique in its wildlife. Many creatures available in this place cannot be found in any other countries in the world. Here are a few creatures belonging to that category Galapagos Penguin, marine iguanas, frigatebirds, blue -footed and red-footed boobies, giant tortoises, colorful Christmas iguanas and lava lizards. It is believed that Darwin visited this place in the year 1800.

Once this place was a penal colony until it was declared as the national park in the year 1959. Now is considered as one of the top tourist spots in the world. Charles Darwin Research Center is very famous here and hence it is worth a visit. Kicker Rock is a dramatic rock formation that is found in San Cristobol. Fernandina is famous for its wildlife. Isabela is said to be the largest one in the group of islands, and that has volcanic trails. The best spot for diving here is the Wolf and Darwin Islands.
